2023

here are a lot of color and form studies, almost all done in acrylic on paper, and almost all exploring the relationship between light and leaves.

and here are some more naturalistic landscapes if that's your jam. Two done in watercolor on black paper and the rest in oil

These are some meditative brushwork practices. I was exploring the idea of creation, destruction and preservation.

Below are a few standalone works I did in 2023

This was done in acrylic ink as a challenge. I did it without a sketch or a reference. A former professor called it "vaginal" which was so much more jarring than yonic. I don't like the original name for it so it's untitled until I come up with a better one.

Two Poalric Points Meet without negating was the phrase stuck in my head when I was inspired to make this. This and the previous piece are part of a series I call Andromeda's Gate. If it includes woven bands it's probably an Andromeda's Gate joint.

Just a colored pencil portrait

and a self portrait in marker

Here is the real star of 2023, The start of the Lavanic scrolls. Check out my tab on Lavanism in the notes section, or If I haven't made it yet, suffer in frustration.

I'll finish off 2023 with this big hanging textile. You might recognize that artifact in the center from last year. The title of this is Shiva. It wouldn't stop repeating in my head while I was making it.
